CIRCUS
SPIRAL
An acrobatic apparatus, a technique, and an ever-growing field of exploration.
The first Circus Spiral was built in 2007. Since then, the apparatus has travelled through performances, collective creations and years of physical research, gradually developing its own acrobatic language.
Rolling, rocking and turning under the weight of the body, the Spiral is never quite still. It can be climbed, balanced, pushed, followed or set in motion — constantly shifting the relationship between acrobat and apparatus.
The practice
Years of physical research have shaped a vocabulary specific to the Circus Spiral.
Its movement is both constraint and possibility. Instead of providing a stable structure for acrobatics, the apparatus moves with the acrobat — changing balance, momentum and orientation, and asking the body to constantly adapt.
From this instability, a vocabulary emerges: rolling, climbing, balancing, suspending, turning — and finding new ways of moving together with the Spiral.

Beyond the apparatus
Where else can
the Spiral lead?
The Circus Spiral has become more than an acrobatic apparatus. It is a starting point for exploring movement, music, construction, design and different ways of sharing circus.
Each new context brings a new question: what else can the Spiral do, who else can work with it, and where can this practice lead?
